At South Milwaukee High School, I was the strangest black kid there. I loved Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Metallica and other “Hard Rock” groups. This was so odd, that the black kids riding the “giant 220 yellow school bus” with me, shunned me and called me an “oreo.” That was the beginning of the road of misunderstanding for me.

Today, I still love hard rock, hard music (rock or rap) and hard work. People laugh when I say, I am hard. Really I am. I prefer hard things. Being weak sucks.

Basically, there is nothing redemptive about being “weak.” Consider the horrors of weak coffee, weak minds and weak men.
